Ait pollution

 AIR POLLUTIONπ“„Žπ“„π“„π“„‘π“„’π“…Άπ“…΅π“…³π“‰Œπ“‰π“‰₯π“Š†π“‰Ÿπ“‰—

Air pollution is a mixture of solid particles and gases in the air. Car emissions, chemicals from factories, dust, pollen and mold spores may be suspended as particles. Ozone, a gas, is a major part of air pollution in cities. When ozone forms air pollution, it's also called smog. Some air pollutants are poisonous.

Air pollution can be caused by the burning of fossil fuels, transportation, and forest fires can cause deforestation. The smoke coming from vehicles can also cause air pollution, and it's very dangerous for our health.Emissions of greenhouse gases contribute to climate change and ozone depleting substances create larger holes in the ozone layer. This type of pollution also increases the acidity of rain, which causes damage to buildings, land, fresh water and sea water, wildlife and plants.

Long-term health effects from air pollution include heart disease, lung cancer, respiratory diseases such as emphysema and asthma . Air pollution can also cause long-term damage to people's nerves, brain, kidneys, liver, and other organs. Some scientists suspect air pollutants cause birth defects. It also can cause irritation to eyes, nose and throat.

The most basic solution for air pollution is to move away from fossil fuels, replacing them with alternative energies like solar, wind and geothermal. Producing clean energy is crucial. But equally important is to reduce our consumption of energy by adopting responsible habits and using more efficient devices. Reducing the use of plastic bags and motor vehicles can control air pollution, and it's good for the environment.

How to manage flood

How to manage flood?πŸ€œπŸ€›πŸ€«πŸ§‍♂️

1. Planting vegetation to retain excess water, terrace slopes to reduce slope flow, and building alluviums (man-made channels to divert water from flooding), construction of dykes, dams, reservoirs or holding tanks to store extra water during flood periods.

Building-scale rainwater retention tanks collect rainwater runoff from roofs to reduce the amount of water that flows into the city's streets and waterways.πŸ€œπŸ€›

Flood management is the technique and strategy to reduce the risk and damage from flooding. In the case of rivers, flooding occurs when the river bursts its banks and water spills into the floodplains. There are different strategies to manage floods, and the government usually chooses which strategies are used. Flood management is very important for a country, city, or people who live in the place that's flooded.

Natural flood management involves using techniques to restore or mimic natural functions to help store more water in the catchment and slow the flow of water downstream. Methods include leaky dams, peatland restoration, storage areas, and tree planting.
